Our verdict
Where it wins
- Combines a sound machine, night light, and routine light in one device for kids' rooms
- 5 color options to match a nursery or kids' room
- 30-night trial and 1-year warranty, plus free shipping and returns
- 3 months of Hatch+ included at purchase, so you can try the expanded content library before deciding whether to subscribe
Where it loses
- Full Hatch+ content library requires an ongoing subscription once the included 3 months end; per-product renewal pricing wasn't shown on this page
- Setup and app control require the Hatch app
- Rebranding from Hatch Rest to Hatch Baby can make it confusing to compare against older reviews written under the Hatch Rest name
What used to be sold as the Hatch Rest 2nd Gen is now listed on Hatch's site as Hatch Baby, priced at $79.99 with three months of Hatch+ bundled in. It carries over Hatch's usual formula, a sound machine plus adjustable light plus app-guided routines, aimed at a kids' room rather than an adult bedroom. The 30-night trial and 1-year warranty make it a reasonably low-risk way to try it; budget for the Hatch+ subscription if you want the full library long-term.

LectroFan Classic
A pocket-sized digital sound machine with 20 non-looping fan and white noise variations for masking background noise.
LectroFan Evo
A step up from the LectroFan Classic with two extra ocean sounds and a longer sleep timer, digitally synthesized so the sound doesn't audibly loop.
